It’s Trick-or-Treat time! Many of us love this time of the year for many reasons but children love the opportunity to dress in costume.
Please remember the following guidelines as you plan your child’s costume:
, no weapons (guns, arrows, axes, etc.)
, no gore (gross blood and guts)
, appropriate costumes for elementary students (not skimpy) etc.
Students will not be allowed to walk in the parade if their costume does not follow these guidelines. If you or your child has a question about a costume, please feel free to call the office or send an email. We want every child to be able to participate in the parade. Students can save the more scary costumes for the evening trick-or-treating. We have young children and students that are disturbed by such. At school, it will be a fun time for all.
We will celebrate the Fall holiday on Monday, Oct. 31st, at 1:30 p.m. Parents can go to the classrooms at 1:20 to help your child get ready. Once your child is ready, parents should leave the classroom and go to the gym. You can also take your goodies to the classroom at 1:20, but again we ask that you not stay in the classroom. It is incredibly hectic that day, so it will be helpful to not have extra people in the room unless you are actively helping your child.

The Billings Board of Education voted to employ Ben
Abramovitz as Elementary Principal for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years. Due to contractual agreements and the time of year, Ben will be transitioning part-time immediately, beginning with the Mondays he is not under contract at Miller, as it is a 4-day school district. Mrs. Brandt will continue to care for the elementary and work with him through this transition. Ben is Mrs. Abramovitz’s eldest son and has several years of successful experience as a Principal.
Mrs. Abramovitz has officially retired, due to circumstances beyond her control. The school is planning a school-community retirement party for her at noon, on Saturday, October 22nd. We love Mrs. Abramovitz and will miss her. We would love for you to be a part of this celebration. Hotdogs, hamburgers and deserts will be served. Please join with us in letting Mrs. Abramovitz know how much we appreciate her and how much she is missed! Thank you for your patience throughout this delicate process and transition and as always thank you for your support!
If you have any questions feel free to contact Mrs. Brandt at (417) 744-2623.
